Atheists, is there something irrational about meditation?
I am an atheist, and I think there is a natural power of meditation that can transcend and transform. This belief is based on personal experience, I can not prove it. Christians and Muslims (and other religions) are often made similar statements about the power of prayer and how they can sense the presence of God. It is personal, can not prove it. Am I a hypocrite when I trust my own experiences, but others call irrational when engage in a process similar? Is there a crucial difference?
Of course it is not hypocritical. Why? Due to ponder, that works for you, and that is enough. Do not go around aggressively trying to convince everyone that they too have to meditate. Or lobby to get laws passed to force others to meditate, to it condemns others who practice a different philosophy. That's where the hypocrisy comes in.
